Flight Period: Usually single brooded, mainly seen in the spring after hibernation and in late summer as the main brood.

Observations: Records extend to all months of the year due to the moth being seen over-wintering in buildings and outhouses. In July 1970, I found several full grown caterpillars resting conspicuously on a small white willow growing on the edge of Pitsford Water.
