  Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rather local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in July and August.

Localities: Hazelborough Wood, Irchester Country Park, Spanhoe Wood and Bedford Purlieus.

Observations: The moth can be very common at m.v. light as on 30 July 1988 at Weldon Park when in excess of one hundred examples were attracted to three actinic light traps left overnight. In 1996 the Fineshade Rothamsted light trap caught 169 moths between 11 July and 22 August.

L.O.N.: 1907. Geddington Chase, Castor, Rockingham. Comes to sugar. Not common.
