| Status:
Resident. Distribution
and Abundance: Local.
Primary Habitat: Wetland.
Flight Period: Single
brooded in July and August.
Localities: Salcey
Forest, Ditchford Lakes, Lilford and Wittering Copse.
Observations: The
moth is much more strongly attracted to sugar than to
light. Over the years I have never seen it at m.v. light
and only twice at actinic light, whereas it regularly
attends sugar especially near rivers and in marshy
areas. On 21 August 1994 seven examples were
attracted to sugared trees along the Slade Brook on the
edge of Glendon Wood.
L.O.N.: 1907.
Many localities. Common near streams.
First Record: 1842,
Clark.
