  Blair's Shoulder-knot Lithophane leautieri

  Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: Gardens.

Flight Period: Single brooded from September into November.

Observations: Since the first record of this species it has spread throughout the county following the planting of its foodplant cypresses, especially leylandii, in gardens. In my own garden light trap currently it is the most plentiful autumn moth.

First Record: 1978, Ecton, Gent.
