  Status:  Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat:  Gardens.

Flight Period:  Single brooded in September and October.

Localities:  Deanshanger, Wollaston, Warmington and Werrington.

Observations: Until recently the moth was more widespread and common in the south and middle of the county. Current records indicate that it has increased its range and is now also well established in the north of the county. The past three years light trap records from Woodnewton in northeast Northants show a marked fluctuation in abundance as follows: - 2007 - 26, 2008 - 31 and 2009 - 136.
