| Status:
Resident. Distribution
and Abundance: Very local.
Primary
Habitat: Grassland.
Flight Period: Single
brooded in April and May.
Localities: Collyweston
Quarry and Easton on the Hill.
Observations: The
Easton on the Hill record was of a single moth taken in a
garden light trap on 18 April 1987. As the trap was sited
near to Collyweston Quarry it was considered that the
moth could have been a wonderer from the reserve. On
follow up on 6 May 1988 the species was found to be
present and the record was updated on 20 April 1993. All
of the moths that I have seen on the site have been ab. brunnea
including many reared from a captured female. Apart
from in the 1950s when twelve were taken at an m.v.
garden light trap in Wellingborough there are few records
over the years. Other localities include Bedford Purlieus
1916 and Castor Hanglands 1933.
