  Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Fairly common.

Primary Habitat: Grassland and scrub.

Flight Period: Double brooded from May into September.

Observations: Caterpillars were quite plentiful in August 1996 in the seed capsules of red campion growing along the Brampton Valley Way.

L.O.N.: 1891. Near Kettering. Only twice.

First Record: 1882, Hull & Tomalin.
