| Status:
Resident. Distribution and Abundance: Fairly
common.
Primary Habitat: Grassland
and scrub.
Flight Period: Double
brooded from May into September.
Observations: Although
caterpillars were quite plentiful in August 1996 in the
seed capsules of red campion growing along the Brampton
Valley Way, the moth only seems to be present at light in
small numbers. In my experience the limestone grassland
of Collyweston Quarry is the best site for the moth in
the county.
L.O.N.: 1891.
Near Kettering. Only twice.
First Record: 1882,
Hull & Tomalin.
