Distribution and Abundance: Fairly common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Single brooded from May to July.

Observations: I have seen full-grown caterpillars feeding on a variety of low plants at Collyweston Quarry on a number of occasions. This is one of the best sites in the county for the moth. The moth was also plentiful at m.v. light in traps left overnight on five occasions in June 2006 at Storefield old quarry workings just outside Kettering. A total of twenty-eight moths were recorded contrasting sharply with the nine moths recorded over the decade to 2009 at Pitsford Water.
