| Status:
Resident. Distribution
and Abundance: Fairly common.
Primary Habitat: General
occurrence.
Flight
Period: Double brooded from May to September.
Observations: The
species currently appears to be going through a less
common phase. The Pitsford Reservoir light trap returns
for the five years from 1999 to 2003 show an annual
average of four moths and my own field records show that
I have not seen the moth in three of these years.
Generally earlier records show the moth to be more
plentiful, for instance, returns from a Wellingborough
garden light trap for the early 1950s show an
annual average of forty-four moths.
L.O.N.: 1905.
Northampton, Kettering. Not common.
First Record: 1882,
Hull & Tomalin.
