Distribution and Abundance: Rather local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Localities: Cold Oak Copse, Cottesbrooke Park, Spanhoe Wood and Bedford Purlieus.

Observations: After Wallis’s notes below, there are few records of this species in the Kettering area until m.v. light trapping was widely used. This is surprising in view of the amount of sugaring that was employed over the years. There are indications that the moth used to be found at rest on tree trunks. Currently it is well established at Geddington Chase and seen at light there annually in small numbers. My own field records show that I have seen the species in and around Northants at light in seven years in the decade to 2009.
