Primary Habitat:
Woodland.
Flight Period: Double
brooded in May and June and again in August.
Observations: There
were few records of this moth until the 1950s when
m.v. light trapping showed it to be well established in
birch woodland. In the eight years to 2000 only three
examples were attracted to the Fineshade Rothamsted light
trap sited away from birch, whereas on 25 May 1996 the
moth was numerous at m.v. lights run alongside a birch
wood within the woodland.
