| Status:
Migrant. Distribution
and Abundance: Rare.
Primary Habitat: General
occurrence.
Flight Period: Recorded
in June and July.
Records: 3
June 1991 Buckingham Thick Copse (A. Warne) and
1 June 2008 Glapthorne Cow Pasture (R. Hilton).
Observations: The
1991 record was of a moth found in a malaise trap.
Due to the paucity of migrant records in May and June
1991 and its inland location it was believed at the time
that the moth may have been an over wintered offspring
from a previous years migrant. The 2008 moth was taken in
one of several m.v. light traps run on the site.
Once again it came in a year of low migrant activity to
Northamptonshire. There are two earlier records:- 13
September 1973 (larva) Northampton (K. Baskcomb) and 23
July 1977 Kettering (J. Ward). The 1973 Northampton larva
produced a moth in July 1974 and the 1977 Kettering moth
was taken in an actinic light trap in the town.
First Record: 1973,
Baskcomb.
