Resident. Distribution and Abundance: Common. Primary Habitat: Woodland. Flight Period: Single brooded from March to May. Observations: The moth
does not seem to be as common as formerly. On 23 April
1987 two actinic light traps left overnight in mixed
woodland at Geddington Chase attracted in excess of 200
examples of the moth and included two melanics. I have
seen no recent catches to compare with this. An analysis
of the data from the last five years catches at the
Pitsford Reservoir static light traps show a variable
