Distribution and Abundance:  Common. 

Primary Habitat:  Woodland.

Flight Period:  Single brooded from September to November.

Observations: The moth can be very common in woodland with a hundred and fifty being recorded at light on 7 November 1994 at Geddington Chase. There was one smoky red-brown moth included in this catch. Records from the Pitsford Water light traps for the decade to 2009 show an average catch of sixty-eight moths with a high of a hundred and seventy-four and a low of  thirty-two.
