  Latticed Heath Semiothisa clathrata

  Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat:  Grassland.

Flight Period:  Double brooded in May and June and again in August and September.

Observations: Primarily a day flying species that occasionally turns up at m.v. light. Its consequential inclusion in light trap returns has doubtless increased its known distribution within the county. Despite this it is still an under recorded species and certainly more widespread than records suggest.

L.O.N.: 1906. Local. Barnwell Wold, Castor Hanglands, Yardley Chase, Weedon.

First Record: 1842, Clark.
