Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Probably double brooded but variable in times of appearance with moths mainly being seen in May and July.

Observations: The moth was common at light on 23 July 1988 at Collyweston Quarry. Generally the species seems to be more numerous than usual in this locality. In excess of eighty examples of the moth were taken at light in a Woodnewton garden in 2010. This contrasts markedly with only four moths recorded at the Pitsford Water static light traps in the decade to 2009.
