  Yarrow Pug Eupithecia millefoliata

  Status: Resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Very local.

Primary Habitat: Grassland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Records: 19 June 2005 ex Barford Meadows (J. Ward) and 30 July 2008 Oundle (P. Horsnail).

Observations: In the autumn of 2004 a small number of larvae of this species were swept from yarrow growing on the high lying rough grassland at the Northamptonshire Wildlife Trust Reserve of Barford Meadows. The caterpillars were reared through and moths were released on the Reserve in June and July 2005. This is a nationally spreading species and has almost certainly colonised other suitable sites in the county. The second county record was taken in a garden light trap.

First Record: 2004, Ward.
