Distribution and Abundance: Local.

Primary Habitat: Woodland. 

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Localities: Yardley Chase, Salcey Forest, Geddington Chase and Fineshade.

Observations: The moth is not strongly attracted to m.v. light and as such the species is almost certainly under recorded in the county. The larva was quite plentiful on 9 September 1997 in the umbels of wild angelica growing in Bedford Purlieus, and searches of the food plant in similar situations during the autumn may be the best way forward to increase records of the species.

L.O.N.: 1912. In further notes Wallis writes, “Trisignata should be added to the list as I found it quite commonly at Farming Woods. The larvae may be found easily on the flower heads of Angelica along with Coronata, Vulgata and several other species.”
