Distribution and Abundance: Common.

Primary Habitat: General occurrence.

Flight Period: Double brooded from May to September.

Observations: Generally moths seem to be at their most plentiful during August as evidenced from detailed records in the four years from 1999 to 2002 at the Pitsford Water static light traps. Viz:-
1999, 64 moths recorded from May to September, 39 in August -
61% of the total.
2000, 79 moths recorded from May to September, 64 in August -
81% of the total.
2001, 62 moths recorded from May to August, 47 in August -
76% of the total.
2002, 124 moths recorded from May to August, 98 in August -
79% of the total.
In 2009 only twelve examples of the species were taken at the site, moths were recorded from May to August, 50% were in August.
