Primary Habitat: Grassland.

Flight Period: Single brooded in June and July.

Observations: Returns from the static Pitsford Water light traps for the ten years to 2009 show an annual average of fifty moths trapped. The caterpillar is frequently seen sunning itself on coarse grasses in the spring after hibernation and in the past I have readily found the egg clusters and the yellow cocoons in the grass.
