Woodland.

Single brooded in June and July.
Localities:
Horton Woods, Rawhaw Wood, Easton Hornstocks and Bedford
Purlieus.
Observations:
The moth can be abundant were it occurs as on the evening
of 2 June 1988 at Hollow Wood when scores were observed
flying over the bracken at dusk. In the past I have found
the pupa of this species in the late spring amongst
ground litter under stands of bracken.
